Panchakarma
Panchakarma: Panchakarma forms one of the major treatment methods in Ayurveda for many diseases. Apart from preparatory treatments for panchakarma like snehana (oil treatments) and svedana (fomentation). Panchakarma treatments like emesis, purgation, medicated enemas, nasal medication are done as per the disease and condition of the patient. The hospital also offers Rasayana (rejuvenation) therapy.
Shashtikashali sweda/Navarakizhi:
Cooked rice in warm bolus form is rubbed over the body or part of the body gently. It is advised for musculo-skeletal diseases, paralysis, muscular dystrophy etc
Dhara: is a process in which medicated oil milk etc is poured stream like over patient’s body or fore head. It is indicated for chronic headache and other diseases pertaining to the head, insomnia, neuropathy, spondylitis, paraplegia, stress and strain etc
Raktha Mokshana: it is a kind of bloodletting procedure. Certain quantity of blood is removed from particular part of the body in certain cases of arthritis etc
Udhvarthana, Steam bath – Massage with powder, followed by steam bath advised for overweight
Shirobasthi – medicated oil is made to be on head region for stipulated period especially for neurological disorders
